Provide a safe and supportive space for groups and organisations to discuss how they can play a role in shifting relationships and dynamics between Indigenous and other Australians for the better.
"Pru Gell and Deanella Mack ran their ‘Tools to host intercultural conversations workshop’ as part of our engagement strategy with staff across different departments. They helped equip a range of staff with greater intercultural understanding and communication skills … and the facilitators supported staff to prioritise issues within the organisation and identify key actions that would contribute to reconciliation.
An outcome of the workshop was that staff reported being better able to recognise practical, small, yet significant, steps that they could take towards reconciliation in their local government roles.
Crucial to this was the creation of a safe space for Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal staff to reflect honestly on sensitive and complex issues, share commitment to building respectful relationships, and work together towards reconciliation".
